Chef Martina Bonello, A Woman, a Nation, and the Courage to Redefine Tradition
In October 2026, Martina achieved a remarkable distinction, winning the South-East Europe & Mediterranean Regional Final of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition in Bucharest. Competing against fourteen other emerging culinary talents, she secured not only the regional title but also the coveted Fine Dining Lovers Award. She became the first Maltese chef to qualify for the competition's international Grand Finale, to be held in Milan in 2027.
